NUMBERS AND OPERATIONS
Additions and subtractions are the first mathematical operations that boys and girls learn in school, beginning their learning at the stage of Preschool Education practicing with the numbers from 0 to 10.
Students begin subtraction by understanding both the process of removing and counting backwards on the number line.
At the same time, they learn to interpret the meaning of the subtraction signs (- e =), they know their elements (minuend, subtrahend and difference) and the position that they occupy according to their positional value to facilitate their resolution (either by horizontal or vertical subtraction).
Throughout the first grade of Elementary School, subtractions without regrouping and borrowing are introduced, as well as word problems solving and mental math with whole numbers from 0 to 100.
